Epoxy garage floor resin is a thermosetting resin applied as a coating. It is developed through a mixture of one-part epoxide resin with one-part polyamine hardener. The properties of the hardener act as a compound that provides the strength capabilities of the epoxy.

Another difference of epoxy paint and coating is that epoxy paint needs to be dried while epoxy coating cures. Once the two parts are mixed together, a chemical reaction will create the curing process which produces strength and durability. As a result, an epoxy coating is thicker than paint and bonds well to the surface.
